Our volunteer guides will show you the Kirk

We are relaunching our tours in 2018

Come and discover the inside history of Greyfriars for yourselves – learn all about the history of the Kirk, its place in Scottish history, how worship has developed over the centuries and which famous figures were laid to rest in our Kirkyard.

We will now run tours on Thursdays when we are open to visitors, at 2pm. Our tours will relaunch in March and will run for the following dates in our Winter season:

1 March

8 March

15 March

22 March

Booking for dates post March will open later next year.

During our summer season, we are open every Thursday, unless closed for a private booking. We regret to say that, if the Kirk is closed for a private event then, unfortunately, the tour will not run – see our Eventbrite page for dates of when tours are running.

Tours have spaces for up to 15 and are booked via Eventbrite.

Tours are suitable for all ages and cost £8 for adults, and £6 for children under 14. Children under 5 go free (but a place must be reserved).

Our tours do not have a minimum number of sign-ups required to run – so don’t hesitate to book!
