Stewart Hardy (fiddle) and Frank McLaughlin (guitar) are a critically acclaimed duo who possess a rare musical kinship as they explore music rooted in the traditions of Scotland, the Borders and Northumberland while incorporating sensibilities from the worlds of classical, blues, klezmer and jazz.
Their sound is both powerful and refined – full of energy, subtlety, and emotional depth. Whether breathing new life into traditional tunes or weaving their way through a sensitive slow air, their playing is always deeply musical and utterly compelling.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2026 Greyfriars@12 Autumn Series. This series of concerts is in two parts, with part one beginning on Thursday 10 September, and concluding on 29 October. There will be no concerts on 15 or 22 October. Part two will run from 12 November to 10 December.
On Thursday’s at noon, we open our doors to the city for an inspiring lunchtime concert series. Greyfriars at 12 began back in 2016 and we have been championing both rising local talent and acclaimed international musicians ever since.
