Seasonal Quartet: New European Ensemble & Ali Smith

We’re delighted to welcome the Edinburgh International Book Festival to Greyfriars. 

Ali Smith’s evocative Seasonal Quartet novels are brought to life anew in this special collaboration with Netherlands’ New European Ensemble (NEuE). Four female composers have created new musical works inspired by the series’ themes of interconnectedness, migration, and our place in a troubled world. Experience an unforgettable performance blending new commissions from leading European musicians with moving readings from the author herself.
