The Kirk’s congregation live, worship and act in the Christian faith, wherever we are in the world. The Kirk’s community is inclusive, a place where everyone is welcome whatever their faith or philosophy.
As well as weekly community notes and other latest news, the Kirk is developing ways for us to continue to engage as a community online, by phone and in other safe ways. This hub provides a notice board and library for services, news, readings and reflections, opportunities to engage and more.
You can also follow our news and join in our community on our social media pages here:
Whether you seek support or enjoyment, inspiration for contemplation, finding friends and community, we hope you will enjoy this hub.
We continue to find ways to gather online for services each week. You can find past services here. Join us for future services:
- Main service – 11am, Sundays
- (followed by a cup of tea and chat on Zoom)
- Mid-week prayers – 1pm, Thursdays
- Refugio services – dates coming soon
The Kirk’s Gaelic Congregation are producing services, prayers and more in partnership with St Columba Gaelic Church, Glasgow.
You can find some of this on our website (coming soon), and also here from St Columba.
In the lead up to the Kirk’s 400 year anniversary on Christmas Day 2020, we started to explore our vision for the Kirk’s next 100 year. The present crisis means many of us are thinking about what it means to be “church” without the physical space in which we are used to gather. We would love to hear what you think – please complete our form.

The Grassmarket Community Project is running some online activities, which you can find out about here.
Vote for your Favourite Hymn
Our organist, Henry, and others look forward to recording some of these for online worship and music features. Place your vote here!
Each week we hope to bring the following online:
- Mon-Fri, 9am – “daily reflection”
- Mon-Fri, 5pm – “thought for the day”
- Saturdays – “community news”
As well as music, history snippets, stories and more. Do you have a favourite poem, reflective piece, short story or something you might like to share? Get in touch: email@example.com. Here are some notes as to how we hope to do this.
We hope that various groups at the Kirk will continue to meet regularly. To facilitate this the Kirk has a Zoom account and can host meetings where appropriate.
We have prepared some notes to help people get started with Zoom.
