Richard Scholfield is an accomplished Scottish saxophonist, recognized for his exceptional artistry and praised for his “silken” sound by The Scotsman. Specialising in solo and chamber music, Richard has a talent for engaging audiences through his expressive performances and thoughtful programming, showcasing the saxophone’s rich history and innovative possibilities.
Caroline Cradock began playing the organ at the age of 16 and went on to study Music at the University of Edinburgh. After graduating with a BMus(Hons) in 1998, she completed a PhD in early 18th-century French organ mass manuscripts (2007). Since 2013 Caroline has been a secondary school music teacher. She currently works at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh, teaching Composition and History of Music to Higher, Advanced Higher and A level pupils. In October 2023 she was appointed Director of Music at Greyfriars Kirk. Caroline currently serves as Scottish representative to the Incorporated Association of Organists and is President of the Scottish Federation of Organists.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2026 Greyfriars@12 Autumn Series. This series of concerts is in two parts, with part one beginning on Thursday 10 September, and concluding on 29 October. There will be no concerts on 15 or 22 October. Part two will run from 12 November to 10 December.
On Thursday’s at noon, we open our doors to the city for an inspiring lunchtime concert series. Greyfriars at 12 began back in 2016 and we have been championing both rising local talent and acclaimed international musicians ever since.
