Church Music

Within the congregation Greyfriars has a thriving and enthusiastic group of musicians.  Our Choirmaster and Organist manages a full choir for all voice parts.

The Kirk is blessed with a fantastic acoustic and well maintained instruments including the Collins organ (1990) and Yamaha C6X grand piano (2014).  

Greyfriars at 12 Concerts

Greyfriars Outreach organises weekly lunchtime concerts.  The Thursday midday concerts are free to attend and last for 45 minutes.  These short concerts are primarily for budding musicians, small amateur ensembles and small choral groups to perform in a beautiful space. There is no charge for ensembles of 6 and under. Interested in performing in front of an appreciative audience? 

Visiting Concerts

The Kirk hosts many professional and amateur music organisations for their concerts.  The Sixteen, SCO Chorus, Edinburgh Royal Choral Union, Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra and Edinburgh University are regulars. The Kirk also hosts charity fundraising and school concerts. 

Bible Service

Our bible study group meets weekly on an evening during the week and is led by Dr Robert Walker. This service is for those who seek to study biblical text in the systematic tradition.
