All are welcome to the Kirking Service for the Deacon Convener and Deacons of the Convenery of the Trades of Edinburgh.
The Convenery of the Incorporated Trades of Edinburgh dates back to c.1562 and the individual Trades date back to the 15th century.
The Convenery is made up of the Deacons of the individual Trades and the Governors of the Edinburgh Trades Fund. There are currently thirteen individual Trades whose purpose is to promote their craft some of which do it through charitable work. The Edinburgh Trades Fund whose origins date back to 1704 is a charity for the benefit of children and young people aged 21 and below.

Weather permitting, there will be a procession to the grave of Mary Erskine to pay our respects to the main contributor to the Trades Maiden Hospital, now the Edinburgh Trades Fund for young people, followed by a buffet lunch in the Kirk with soft drinks.
