Ciaran Walker is a young organist and harpsichordist from Musselburgh, East Lothian. He began playing the organ at the age of twelve, initially self-taught, and at 16 he started formal organ lessons with Edinburgh City Organist Dr John Kitchen MBE. He has since gained his Grade 8 practical and ARSM Pipe Organ performance diploma, both with distinction (achieving 48/50 in his ARSM), and most recently he passed the prestigious examination for the Associateship of the Royal College of Organists. He is a final year music student at the University of Edinburgh and is Organist and Director of Music at St Michael’s Inveresk where he presides over the famous three-manual Lewis pipe organ. Following the completion of his undergraduate music degree, Ciaran will go on to study the organ at Masters level at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow.
